Goals 2

Once you have the big picture of what you want to accomplish you need a why or a purpose as Carol always says. This is also a very important part of goal setting. The why or the purpose will help you stay on course. The more details you can put into your why the better your out come will be. Let us take the trip analogy on this. If you do not really have a reason to go to Houston, you may never make it there.

Let us say you start out on your trip 30 miles out you have a flat tire. If you did not come up with a reason to continue, this obstacle may make you want to go back to your comfortable home and not continue the trip. However, if the why or the purpose happens to be your father is dying and this will be your last chance to spend some time with him while he is alive, you can see how important this trip will become.

Here is my challenge to you! Spend some time writing out your why or your purpose. The more details you put into this the stronger your goal or your big picture will become. In the next update, I will take you through some more steps to make your goal stronger.
